Happy New Year Wolfies!

First resolution of the year is to update our blog and make it more active this year. Sometimes we get so busy this blog gets neglected but we will change that..starting now! Let’s just recap the last few months in a (somewhat) organized fashion:

One of A Kind Christmas Show (Nov 24-Dec 04, 2011)

This was our first time doing the entire OOAK Christmas show, and it was great! The set-up of our booth actually took the longest it has EVER taken us (2 days, 5 hours per day). During set-up we always like to goof around a little. This was our home for the next 11 days. We also entered the Coffee Cup competition that they have for vendors every year. You can see our rendition of a coffee cup made out of materials that we use – ripped up misprinted t’s and ink. The show turned out to be a lot of fun (we didn’t expect anything less). As a side note, we have such awesome fans/friends. Many of them came to visit and we got a few little treats like, gift card to starbucks from the sweetest Humber crew, homemade muffins made by Maxine, chocolate and hand crocheted ornaments by Atomic Ami Gals, handmade christmas tree earrings by Christina, and Pies from Steph! <3 Thank you so much!!

The week after the OOAK we went to City of Craft. This was definitely going to be a handmade holiday. We treated ourselves to a couple of Julie Moon Skulls, which we have coveted for so long. Sorry, I was trying for hours to separate the gallery into 2 parts, but it won’t go, so the pictures are all together. They have captions and descriptions though

The rest of the year was dedicated to keeping busy with holiday sales (best time of year!) and having fun. We had a very successful 2011, and hope that 2012 will be even better! We are so happy and grateful to everyone who we have met throughout the year, new friends and old. Crywolf is a big party bus, and everyone should hop on!

As for January, it has been the first sign of OLD MAN WINTER! and it’s minus 14 degrees (Celsius) today. Stay warm this winter with $10 bucks off all zip-up hoodies

Oh man! Did we ever have some awesome costume entries again this year! It was a really really really tough pick but we have narrowed it down to a 1st and 2nd place winner and a 3-way tie for 3rd.

Brittney wins our Halloween prize pack! Congrats! We love how she went all out not only with the costumes but staging everything with the props. PROPS TO HER!

SECOND PLACE: Alesia Tini as our Zombie Cat!

So cute! She got the makeup spot on and even the pose, with the tongue. Alesia wins a Zombie Cat tee or tank!

And tied for third are our 3 remaining entries because they were just too good:

And last but not least, Kat Simas with her pup dressed as Pup in a Unicorn which is a mash-up of our Pup in a Cup and Unicorn Chloe designs!

These 3rd place winners will all receive a special *new* product that hasn’t been released yet! We’ll reveal it when they come in.

Honorable mention:

Milo and his jockey. Wasn’t exactly Crywolf related but A for effort! It was so cute that we had to post it anyway. A note from Terrilyn: “oops, just realized its supposed to be crywolf … so in the most abstract way, his costume is related in the sense that he is a canine and so are wolves & at this point of taking the picture he was crying for attention from surrounding unionville-mainstreet-ers”

You may remember a while back we posted a blog about some flash games that some students from our old high school, St Robert’s, had whipped up. Well, our old computers teacher, Mr. Keenan, has sent us two more and they are AMAZING! They are the two best of the final programs that used our characters. Our favourite time of year is once again approaching swiftly – Halloween! You may remember that last year we put on our first ever Halloween contest. If you don’t remember, you can last year’s finalists in this blog post.

The contest is really easy: COME UP WITH YOUR BEST CRYWOLF COSTUME!

Lots of characters to choose from: Wolfe, Chloe, Zombie Bunny, Hipster Werewolf, Matryoshka, Ninja Panda etc etc etc! The costume doesn’t even have to be a character, feel free to come up with something totally unique (but Crywolf related)! The most unique, fun, and well-excecuted costume will win an amazing Halloween Prize Pack!

Just yesterday we took a trip downtown in the afternoon to drop off a bunch of shirts at one of our very first retailers Drysdale & Co.

We have been running the biz coming up on our 3rd year anniversary this September. We have known Susan Drysdale for a good 2.5 of those years! That’s because she was the first retailer in Toronto to carry our Crywolf shirts!

Located on the Danforth right at the corner of Broadview (just over the bridge, beside the highway entrance) Drysdale & Co. is full of fun, unique, and quirky things!

This weekend is the annual Taste of the Danforth event Aug 5-7th. We dropped off a lot of our limited edition pieces that we no longer have for sale and they are all going at $20 a pop, so be sure to check it out for some unique finds!

Even if you can’t make it this weekend, stop by and have a looksie, we’re sure you will be happily surprised!

One thing that we’ve wanted to do for a while, (but have managed to procrastinate on for quite some time) had been to post a feature about each of our retailers whom we adore, love, and thank for their support.

This round we will be featuring our newest retailer Bicyclette Boutique located in the west side of downtown Toronto at 880 Queen St. West (near Trinity Bellwoods).

We took these photos the last time we went to make a drop-off earlier this summer. The store was so pretty and lovely to photograph.

They are carrying a wide selection of our tanks, as well as many other lovely brands, so if you want to take a look, stop by the shop and we’re sure you won’t leave empty handed!
