Just wanted to share our first psuedo experience and some thoughts on Johnny Cupcakes.

We have been long time followers of the Johnny Cupcakes brand. We really respect the ideas and the ideology behind the brand and would definitely say he is a big inspiration to all small business folks. As with any field of business, it’s important to look at the top players and try to learn a bit about what they do to make & keep themselves successful.

Anyway, yesterday was their Houston stop of a suitcase tour he is doing across the country. Lots of young hipster ppl lined up in the streets. I recruited my boyfriend who lives in Houston to check it out for himself (while I would live vicariously through him). So with that said, here is our pseudo experience of the Johnny Cupcakes brand and Johnny Cupcakes himself!

Upon arrival a little before 8pm there was already a huge line up of people waiting to see/meet/buy J. Cupcakes! Seeing the van and everything was pretty exciting.

Not really sure how they meant to set it up but after about an hour of waiting, the line had not moved.

Some people got a little restless and left, but most were still there and there was still a huge line. After about an hour and a half of waiting in the line, I was thinking Wow this is insane! It reminded me of going to clubs back in the day (lol..we had to do it at least once)  how they made people wait outside to get in so a huge line builds up, and once you get in you realize the club is empty.

After 2 hours it was quitting time. During that time, the line never really moved – the only reason it did because people were leaving – kind of an anti-climactic ending to an exciting beginning.

We’re not really sure what the point of making people wait that long was. Maybe he was spending quality time with each and every one of his customers, but as sweet as a cupcake should be, this experience kind of left a salty taste in our mouths.

With that said, being a successful business man/celebrity, he seemed like a nice guy!
